Hunting & Fishing Guide
Enosburg, Vermont
Tyler Andersen is a hunting and fishing guide based in Enosburg, Vermont. He has spent most of his life outdoors, working and learning in the same part of Franklin County where he grew up.
He didn’t originally plan to turn it into a business. Over the years, he worked in construction, on farms, and operating heavy equipment. Guiding came later, starting with taking out a few people he knew. Over time, it grew into steady work. For the past 15 years, he has guided deer hunts, turkey hunts, and fishing trips on Lake Champlain, along with ice fishing in the winter.
Most of what he knows comes from time spent outside—learning how deer move, how weather affects conditions, and when to be in the right place. It’s not complicated, but it does take patience.
He keeps things simple, avoiding social media and unnecessary complexity. His gear is straightforward, and he sticks to what works, focusing on doing things the right way. Most of his clients are repeat customers or referrals, which has always been enough for him.
Outside of guiding, he stays busy with local work such as snowplowing in the winter and equipment jobs when things slow down. He has two kids and makes an effort to stay close to home as much as possible.
